Is Using a Wedding Planner an Option for you?

Wedding planning, are you up to the job?

The planning of a wedding is task of proportions that few people deal with in their daily lives. Unless you are a professional wedding planner, that is. You wouldn’t expect to step straight from your day job and be asked to organize a military campaign. For most of us, our wedding is one of the major events of our lives and yet we happily take on the responsibility without a thought for what is involved. The wedding day is supposed to be the happiest of a girl’s life, but often it is preceded by months of stress and tears.

A relatively small wedding can be organized by the bride and her female relatives, with the men just being told where and when to turn up. But once your guest list reaches a hundred or more, it starts to become a logistical nightmare. There are so many things that need to be taken care of.

* The church and the ceremony
* The cars
* The flowers
* The wedding dress
* Bridesmaids’ dresses
* Morning suits
* Button holes
* The venue for the reception
* The catering
* The honeymoon

Is there anything I’ve missed? You are probably making a mental list of my omissions. The idea of having a wedding planner to take care of these minor details is starting to seem very attractive. A wedding is not going to be a cheap undertaking and the extra expense of a wedding planner may be hard to justify.

And yet, the wedding will still cost an arm and a leg, even if it turns out to be a disaster. Is it worth the extra outlay to give you the best chance of happy and smooth running day? Only you can decide that but it is certainly worthy of consideration.

A Wedding Planner – Your Insurance against Disaster

With wedding planner taking care of the major logistical planning, you can be sure that nothing will be overlooked. The bride is now free to concentrate on the enjoyable details.

* Choosing a dress.
* Vetoing her fiancés choice of best man.
* Removing his unsuitable friends from the guest list.
And perhaps most importantly for the smooth running of the event, deciding which relatives need to be seated very far apart. She may now be able to turn up on the big day feeling stress free and radiant.

If Wedding Planner is beyond Your Budget

If, despite the positive benefits, a wedding planner is beyond your means, there is plenty of advice to be had for cheap or even free. There are many books on the subject of wedding planning and the internet can be a great source of information. At the very least, you should be able to find a checklist so that you don’t end up sending out the invitations the day before the wedding. In fact, start early and avoid any last minute panic.
